Growing up in metro-Detroit as an immigrant, Noor quickly found his escape with media during his teen years. By the time he was 16, he created his own company, Nor-torious Productions, and led the media department at Fitzgerald High School. Selling customized mixes on CDs out of his trunk, Noor quickly established his name for audio solutions. From there, Noor began video production and editing, with sporting events and ceremony services.

Growing up during the height of Hip-Hop music in late 1990s-early 2000s, Noor’s taste in the early years were influenced by Eminem, Bone Thugs, 2Pac, Nelly, among other rappers at the top of the game during that time. His college experienced introduced Noor to alternative rock music as well as soul! After graduating from college in 2008, he decided to move back all alone to Erbil, where his family once tried to start a family there in the 1980s.

When Noor joined Babylon Media in 2012, Babylon FM was a 9-month old Jazz radio station. He rebranded and reformatted the station to what it sounds like today. He began to go live on his own in October 2012 with ”Noor In The Morning.” The show was the founding ground to what today is the Breakfast Club. Noor can be heard on many other shows throughout the week as well.

Dalawi was born in the city of Hawler, Kurdistan to parents from Mandali (a Kurdish area near the Iranian border). As a young boy, Dalawi loved being the center of attention but his life was quickly turned upside down as a result of the constant wars in Kurdistan. He fled to Perth, Australia before the Kurdish civil war as a young political refugee. Living in Australia, to fit into his new environment he used comedy to make new friends and he leant to adapt to different people in different situations. Dalawi started swimming and became one of the top swimmers in Perth, were he won many metals and came fifth in an Australia wide swim competition for his age range.

In 2006, he returned to Hawler with a new understanding of the world. Dalawi quickly flourished in the growing media industry of Hawler becoming a standup comedian. After starting his own company, Cybertronics, in 2012, Dalawi was for the first time in his life was financially secure. Two years later, the financial crisis stated as well as another war, now selling his once very successful company Dalawi joined Babylon FM in August 2014. He felt at home instantly, Dalawi loved what he was doing, with his comedic background as well as being a people person, Dalawi soon became one of the hosts of the famous breakfast Club. Waking up Kurdistan in the morning, volunteering in the war effort in the afternoons and a family man at night.

From 2014 until today, Dalawi has been part of the Babylon family. Leaving home but always finding his way back to his true love, radio. Currently he co-hosts the Breakfast Club!

DALAWI

While getting their first tattoo and listening to Tupac and Eminem, Diar and Zana (Mr. Zee) decided to introduce western dance music into the local scene. Diar, a photographer and Mr. Zee, a humanitarian mine action worker and part time bartender started the DJ Pro project.

Equipped with talents in photography, photo editing, videography, video editing, sound engineering, and a fun taste of music, the two started mixing it up alongside local bands in wedding parties in 2003. Influenced by different English singing artists and various music genres, DJ Pro have found their way into the clubbing scene through Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

Since 2006, Diar and Mr. Zee have had amazing journeys as resident DJs at The Edge, Mamounia Skybar, Erbil Speed Center, Aura Club, Palmyra, Black & White, Lagoon, and few others. DJ Pro met Noor in 2012 and The DJ Pro Mix Club was born with first episode aired on Jan 2013. The Mix Club aims to introduce the latest of Deep House, Electro House, Progressive House, Trance, and Trap tracks to Kurdistan.

DJ Zee

For as long as she could remember, Zoë was passionate about expressing herself and being witty and sarcastic when doing so. She always wanted to find a job where she can use her sense of humor to make a good influence on her society and she was able to get her first job as a social media manager at the age of 18.

Zoë’s music taste is a little unfamiliar with her culture but she feels like it expresses her inner self. She’s into metal and rock mostly and is influenced by bands such as: Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Sabbath, My Chemical Romance and many others. She’s also into soul and of course, songs from her native language. Zoë has a bachelor’s degree in Information System Engineering but she chooses to work in the media field. She can speak 5 languages that include English, Assyrian, Kurdish, Arabic and German!

When Zoë joined the Babylon team in June 2016, she had very little experience on sound editing. She has co-managed Babylon FM’s social media page from 2015 to present. As time went by, she was able to learn a lot about sound editing and production. She first began to host the Fresh Jawo in 2017, where she brought 15 of the newest tracks every week. She also made a few appearances on the Breakfast Club in 2017 and 2019, until she became the official co-host in May 2019! She co-hosted the show for 2 years, until she moved in April 2021. She still hosts her rock show, the Rock Collision every week!

Zoë

Hailing from the Netherlands, Marian joined Babylon FM at just 16, starting out as an audio editor creating ads and producing behind the scenes. She slowly made her way into hosting — and eventually, management (somehow).

Now the manager, Marian keeps things running with enthusiasm  and a sense of humor not everyone takes seriously. She loves travel, good food, and radio. You can listen to her every day on The Breakfast Club, where she’s always excited to be on air.

Dilo was born in Erbil and grew up in France before moving back to Erbil in 2019. He holds degrees in Law and Political Science and is actively engaged in civil society organizations. Passionate about music, particularly the oud, he combines his cultural interests with his professional commitments. Dilan is also deeply involved in promoting the return to the homeland of members of the diaspora. He has been hosting La French Touch since 2019 and co-hosting the Breakfast Club since 2023. Although his english is Oui-lish and needs subtitles but we still love him!

Lulu is one of the voices behind The Breakfast Club on Babylon FM. British-born with a Lebanese background and based in Erbil, she brings sharp conversation, great energy, and just the right amount of funny to your mornings. Quit witted, curious, and always on the move, she believes great radio is about real talk, good vibes, and keeping it human

Redar Gyliana a.k.a RED-R DJ is an Iraqi professional Urban, Hip Hop, House DJ. Born in Erbil, his journey in DJing world started in 2018, where he noticed the frustration of partygoers. One night, in the middle of a party, Redar decided to go to Lebanon to seek learning opportunities about the DJ world. With no music and DJing background, he bought a DJ kit there and found a mentor! An American Lebanese DJ who in two weeks taught him the basics.

Back to Erbil, he was encouraged by his family to continue his DJ journey. A short while after he started playing in parties and next thing he knew he was in the middle of Christmases and New years concerts! RED-R plays a mixture of mutable music styles from around the world such as R&B, Hip Hop, URBAN, Reggaeton, Deephouse and House. His style of BAZZAR meets the local demands, with Lebanese DJs having the greatest influence on him.

Today, RED-R mixes have more than thousands of plays on SoundCloud, Anghami, YouTube and Mixcloud. In a short time, he managed to reshape Djing in Erbil. Currently, he is booked in hotels, nightclubs, and bubs in the city in addition to DJing in private parties.

Why DJing? “I DJ to entertain my audience. That is my main motive. During COVID lockdowns, I entertained them with live DJing through Instagram. I also established the Spins N Smiles initiative, which aims to bring joy and hope through music to the ones who feel like outcasts within their community in Kurdistan. I also DJed for the Kurdistan animal shelter fundraising event. My ambition is to be a worldwide recognized DJ from this culturally rich region.”

RED-R

Dr. Zaid is one of the bigger voices on The Breakfast Club, not because he's particularly interesting or famous, but he is pretty loud though. Hailing from Duhok and raised in the States, Dr. Zaid brings a funny energy to the serious moments and a serious energy to the funny ones. Deeply passionate about medicine, music, and speaking, you won't want to miss one of his speeches on public health or one of his weekly song lists.

Youhana is a dynamic and engaging radio presenter known for his smooth voice and sharp sense of timing. At Babylon FM, he hosts a popular evening segment that blends music, cultural commentary, and listener interaction. His style is relaxed yet energetic, making him especially popular among younger audiences in Iraq.

Mohammed "Big Moe" is a part time host at the breakfast club. He is a food enthusiast, an outdoors adventurer, and a sports addict. He enjoys conversations, hearty laughter, good music, and better company

Known as Egyptian Big Moe by his co-workers because he grew up in Egypt, he brings an Egyptian morning flow to the show to entertain people whether they’re going to school, work, or to wherever their destination may be. His coworkers still don’t believe that he’s an Iraqi Kurd and still think that he’s Egyptian. 

Ask him about cars, ask him about bikes, ask him about outdoors trips and camping and you just might be in for a ride about the many adventures he’s experienced, the fumbles he laughs at and makes a comedy out of, and the joy of being an outdoor adventurer much like himself.
